Solomon T. McAuley was born on January 11, 1981, in Fayetteville, N.C. Currently he resides in Concord, NC but a native of Broadway, NC. Solomon is a 1999 graduate from Lee Senior High School in Sanford, NC. He is also a 2004 graduate from Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC where he majored in Social Work. In 2006 McAuley became the first Middle School Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Sanford/Lee County.
While in this position, Solomon developed summer college tours taking middle and high school club members to colleges and universities in the North Carolina area. The tours included North Carolina Central University, High Point University, Fayetteville State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and Livingstone College. McAuley also built a relationship with the local breadbasket in Sanford and began taking groups of club youth to volunteer weekly preparing and serving meals to the homeless and others.
In 2008, Solomon was invited to accompany his colleague, William Johnson, to a youth event hosted by the Harnett County JobLink. Solomon delivered his first official youth workshop entitled "Overcoming Obstacles" and this was a life changing encounter. Since then, he has been humbled to serve as a speaker for Moore County-Links Program, Moore County DSS-Staff Christmas Luncheon, San Lee Middle School-8th grade graduation, The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church-Mid Winter Meeting, McQueen Chapel United Methodist Church-Career Day, Lee County Boys & Girls Club-Passport 2 Manhood, Lee County Lions Club, Union County-Links Program, Salisbury, Anson High School, just to name a few.
In October 2014, Solomon joined the Centralina Council of Governments in Charlotte, NC and is currently the NEXTGEN Services Leader for Centralina Workforce Development Board. Mr. McAuley is a tireless youth advocate and is committed to motivating people from all facets of life.
Solomon’s first opportunity to present at a state conference was at the 2018 NCWorks Partnership Conference in Greensboro, NC. McAuley presented on Youth Engagement and left that conference even more energized and submitted proposals for two other conferences outside of North Carolina, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals in San Antonio, Texas and the New York State Network for Youth Success, Saratoga Springs, NY. Both opportunities have opened doors for additional opportunities to present on youth engagement near and far. Since 2008, McAuley has had the pleasure of speaking to countless number of students, parents, working professionals from varies fields, and community leaders.
In May 2022, McAuley gave his first conference closing keynote for the North Carolina Employment and Training Association (NCETA) in Wilmington, NC. In December 2022, McAuley gave his first national conference keynote for the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) in Charlotte, NC. In May of 2023, McAuley again made history in his speaking career as he delivered the opening and closing keynote for the North Carolina Employment and Training Association (NCETA) in Raleigh, NC. McAuley is indeed a sought-after workshop presenter and speaker that leaves audiences wanting more.
